In previous episodes, we talked about how to integrate your Salesforce data with Snowflake and with Redshift. In today’s episode of Data Unleashed, Drew dives deeper into why there’s been a rise in Salesforce customers using these OLAP databases. Oftentimes, they’re using them to be able to query larger amounts of data so they can report on them better, as well as for data warehousing and integration. And they’ve chosen OLAP databases like Snowflake and Redshift due to their ability to store data as blocks instead of the more traditional columns and rows in a relational database management system.

That’s where CapStorm comes in. With our solutions, Salesforce users can pull their data directly from Salesforce and into these OLAP databases in just a few minutes of real-time. This gives users more insights into their data to make better-informed decisions.

Tune in each Tuesday for more episodes of Data Unleashed, and discover all the tips and tricks to help you get more value from your investment in Salesforce. Hi, my name is Drew Niermann, and you’re watching Data Unleashed, the video blog series dedicated to helping you get more out of your investment in Salesforce.

Today, we’re going to talk a little bit about Snowflake and Redshift as examples of OLAP, or online analytical processing databases. We’ve seen a trend over the past several years that more and more Salesforce customers are adopting these technologies to be able to query larger volumes of data report on them better warehouse and integrate with them better.

And in case you’re wondering, the reason why they do this is you’re basically storing data in what are called blocks instead of the traditional rows and columns of a traditional RDBMS relational database management system.

The end result or the outcome is you’re able to crank through larger data volumes faster, ask more complex queries and get more insights out of your data.

So if you are a Salesforce customer, and you’re using Snowflake, or Redshift or even thinking about integrating with Snowflake and Redshift, please drop me a note. My name is Drew Niermann, you can find me on LinkedIn.

Or if you’re looking for an organization that can help you pull directly from Salesforce into Redshift or Snowflake within a few minutes of real-time. You might check out CapStorm at www.capstorm.com. Thank you so much for watching. My name is Drew Niermann, and this is Data Unleashed.
