Can you tell us a little about your background?
I graduated recently from the computer science bachelor’s program at Georgia Tech here in Atlanta. CapStorm is my second full-time developer position after graduation, and the experience I have gained working here with the team so far has been extensive. I grew up in South Georgia, but I have hopes to travel the world and live in strange, new places.
What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?
I have a motorcycle that I ride from time to time.
Do you have any programs that you are currently binge-watching?
I’m currently watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
If you could tell your 13-year-old self one thing, what would it be?
Save up as much money as possible and buy BitCoin with all of it.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Jackson, Wyoming.
How did you get started in your industry?
As a high school student, I had no clue what I wanted to do career-wise. I played video games in high school, and given that I knew a decent amount about computers, I chose to explore computer science in college.
What’s been your most interesting job so far?
CapStorm has by far been the most exciting position I have held since graduation.
What are some of your day-to-day job duties?
I help maintain and develop new features for our software and support our customers with technical issues related to their implementations. I also provide technical assistance during our proof of concept (POC) process for potential new customers.
When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
I remind myself that this opportunity is unique. I am gaining far more experience in all aspects of the business than most entry-level developers do in the industry, and I must take advantage of that while I can. CapStorm is growing rapidly, and I truly believe in the vision of our founders, Greg and Mary. I am grateful to be a part of it, and I strive to live up to expectations to propel us as a company into becoming the industry leader in Salesforce data management and enablement.
What are your goals for the next six months?
My goals for the next six months include honing my skills as a developer and as an innovator to explore new ideas and technologies that will propel CapStorm, and my own career alongside it.
